"Hugo," Scorsese's ode to the early days of moviemaking, earned the most nominations with 11 overall, including for him in the director category. "Artist" leads "Tinker Tailor" in BAFTA nominations

The nominations for the BAFTAs, Britain's top film honors and the most closely watched movie awards outside the United States, come a week before the Oscar shortlists are unveiled.
